Through our collaborative efforts dating back to 1993, the principal partners of Midwest Hyperbaric have ourselves as a respected resource in the field of wound care and hyperbaric medicine, committed to patient advocacy and the appropriate application of hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

Midwest Hyperbaric is of the belief that successful Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care programs should be integrated, cohesive and function cooperatively to deliver optimal patient care. This is achieved through education of internal healthcare professionals, support staff and the medical community.

Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care Certified Experts

Jeff Mize, RRT CHT, CWCA

With over thirty years of health care experience, Jeff began his career as a graduate of Avila University Respiratory Therapy program. He has extensive experience in critical care as a Flight Respiratory Therapist/Paramedic for the Spirit of Kansas City Life Flight.

In 1993, he entered the field of Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care and served as the Program Director for 15 years in the region leading a 24/7 Level 1 UHMS Accredited facility. As the Program Director, he continued to deliver patient care while providing oversight for all aspects of administrative, clinical and daily operations within the Wound Care and Hyperbaric Facility.

Jeff is a Registered Respiratory Therapist, Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) by the National Board of Diving and Hyperbaric Medical Technology, a Certified Wound Care Associate (CWCA) by the American Academy of Wound Management, and trained as an UHMS Safety Director and is a UHMS Facility Accreditation Surveyor.

In 2001, the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) began the Facility Accreditation Program, a complementary body of The Joint Commission. As a long-standing member of the UHMS, he recognized the value and impact this process would have in providing safe and appropriate delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy. He has served on the UHMS Board of Directors, the UHMS Finance Committee, UHMS Associates Council and the UHMS Scientific Committee.

Jeff is the 2010 recipient of the Gurnee Award that is presented to the “UHMS associate member in recognition of outstanding contributions or advances in the area of patient treatment and support in conjunction with the undersea or hyperbaric medicine field.”

Jeff is the 2013 recipient of the Paul C. Baker Award for Hyperbaric Oxygen Safety Excellence that recognizes a “UHMS Associate member for outstanding contributions to the advancement of safety in hyperbaric oxygen, particularly those who have implemented outstanding hyperbaric safety programs, authored safety publications, developed or presented on hyperbaric safety-related research”.

Tiffany Hamm BSN, ACHRN, CWS

Tiffany Hamm began her career in Nursing with a BSN from Rockhurst University/Research College of Nursing. Her clinical expertise includes Cardiac Intensive Care.

She entered the field of Hyperbaric Medicine and Wound Care in 1996 and soon after obtained Board Certification in Hyperbaric Medicine (CHRN). The National Board of Diving Hyperbaric Medical Technology has recognized her with the distinction of Advanced Certified Hyperbaric Registered Nurse (ACHRN).

A long-standing member of the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS), she is a Hyperbaric Facility Accreditation Surveyor and has served as the UHMS Associate Council Secretary and the Awards Committee for the Annual UHMS Scientific Meeting.

Tiffany is a Certified Wound Specialist (CWS) by the American Academy of Wound Management. During her 20-year tenure in the field, she served Director of Nursing for the region’s leading 24/7 Level 1 UHMS Accredited facility, providing oversight in all aspects of patient care, coordination of nursing and administrative staff, marketing and community development. Tiffany has expertise with billing, coding and reimbursement specific to hyperbaric medicine and wound care services.

In 2011, Tiffany was the recipient of the Gurnee Award presented to a UHMS Associate Member “in recognition of outstanding contributions or advances in the area of patient treatment and support in conjunction with the undersea or hyperbaric medicine field”.
